I’m Size Ten

Every day, we are going through different challenges in life. By facing them, we do learn to grow up and develop as a person that we are now. But sometimes, we are confused about our journey; sometimes we can feel that we are not in the right direction. Then we often let others define us and confuse us. And I’m very sure that at some point in your life, you thought of changing your life, a life that has no dramas just like yours, because you’re just too tired of yours. But have you ever asked yourself what’s the purpose of your life? Why is it given to you? Or perhaps, does the size fits you perfectly?

In a store, we have different sections for shoes; a section for men, women, children, executives, security guards, students, basketball player, football player, other ballers, runners, bikers, senior citizens, babies and many more. They categorized them for the customers’/consumers’ convenience. Now, for a man out there, have you thought of wearing a footwear that’s especially made for women use? Well, except if you have a special reason that we all know; I do respect that. But often times “no”, because the reality is that we will have a hard time moving; eventually we’d feel uncomfortable. Then we would rather be contented with what we have.

The same with life, we have different personalities, likes and dislikes. We can never categorize life because every person is different. We are unique in our own ways and we are therefore, gifted with individual beauty. We are all wearing a pair of shoes that fits us perfectly. This pair is a gift from God and we must take care of it. It ain’t easy right?

Stating that wearing someone’s shoes can’t be that easy, then why do we have to bother judging someone’s shoes? Why do we have to look down on someone just because he/she has a different one? You know, it’s easy to judge but it’s not easy to put yourself in their position. We can notice all their flaws but that does not make us a better person. So why bother? Next time, just try to put ourselves first in their position, and I’m sure we won’t like it. Don’t ever make a conclusion without even knowing the story of someone. And we might be surprised by how he/she made it in life. Probably, we can never stop comparing our shoes to someone. The right thing to do now is, just focus on our life and walk in our shoes confidently. Always remember that we’re wearing this pair of shoes because God believes that we can travel hundreds of miles, and even better. So enjoy it! Now I want to emphasize to the readers that you are free! Don’t let someone bring you down, for you are worth it of everything. Wear your shoes properly and be proud. Run! And for those who can’t run, just take it slow; one step at a time. Trust me, you’d enjoy it also.

So again, just walk and walk, because it’s not important where you are right now, what is important is where you will be tomorrow.

*This is a line from Eminem’s song “BEAUTIFUL”. I made this one to remind everyone how beautiful they are. Remember that you have that something that made you beautiful. SMILE! :)

Turn Boredom into Happiness

When you’re bored, you usually find things that might entertain you. You tend to try things that didn’t interest you that much last time. Then suddenly, you’ll find them entertaining and they’ll start to be your hobbies.

Now I’m here to promote a page here on my blog named “My Doodles”. Go check it out by clicking on the titles of the drawings. It’s free to share, well if you’ll have the guts to share them. Here are some of them:

So for more, just check out the page. I’ll be glad if you did.

One thing more, I decided to start posting my song compositions here. I have 20 in total but I think I would not post them all. Besides, some of them will be protected by passwords. Just click the song titles on the “My Song Compositions” page for more information.

Sometimes we must really take a break from life’s dramas and complications. Let us try to do simple things that’ll make us happy and soon we would be able to handle things correctly. Do the things you love and don’t let anyone stop you from doing that. Have fun! Find your happiness and you’ll find life.

The Sound of Music

I sat down in a red, soft, elegant chair that was like 15 rows away from the stage. It may not be the best seat in the house for you but it was indeed enough for me to feel comfortable while waiting for the play to start. I observed the jam-packed theater that was composed of different personalities: beside me was an aristocratic girl with her fair companion. But the best persons in the theater during that time were the members of my family.

The lights go down and the red curtains go up. Suddenly there were some lights coming from the stage that looked like heaven, though I’ve never been there. Together with these effects were the angelic voices of the nuns in the play. That signal the start of the longest broadway play in the Philippines ~ The Sound of Music.

The story was of course based on the movie itself. They just included some theatrical effects that made it look good. After the nuns was the woman named Maria, a fine girl with a short blonde hair. I was stunned by the way she graced the floor; aside from the fact that she sang so beautifully. No words can really describe her looks that night. Cris Villonco is the name, an actress that’s so versatile. She also starred in Noli Me Tangere as Maria Clara. So surely, she’s Maria.

The show went on and the Captain and the kids showed up. They were all singing their hearts out with passion and beauty. Perfect as it may seem, but it’s enough and more than what I expected from the play. They gave the original characters justice with their talents. Talents that we must be proud of because those talents would soon make a name for the Philippines. Especially the little girls from the play, they acted and sang so well. Hands down for the great actors and actresses that I’ve seen in the musical play.

One of my main observations in the play was they surely did enjoy themselves up there. I know that they’ve been acting and singing since last year; doing the same thing over and over again. But they seemed fresh and ready yesterday. I don’t even have an idea how they manage to keep their voices like that but surely, they’re just the example of exceptional Filipinos that would soon make us proud.

I’m not gonna spoil those who would like to watch the play. Go watch it yourselves and be amazed on how our Philippine Art has gone so far. It was nice having The Sound of Music as my first musical play in 2012. I know there are more plays to come and let us see what will we reach soon.

Great artists, singers, props, set, story and music. As usual, Manila Orchestra nailed it once again. The 3 hour musical play with 2 Acts and several scenes in them will surely make your moneys worth. The venue is perfect for you if you want entertainment at its best ~ the Newport Performing Arts theater is a must see place people. I’ve been there three times and watched three shows.

Respect is the Key

Why do you have to care so much if a person is a JEJE or not? (BTW, for people who don’t know what JEJE is, I’ll explain it to you. Jeje is a “pasosyal” shortcut for Jejemon which means people who type like this –> cApS L@cK iS aBuSed, or worse. No need for further explanations). So you, will it affect your life so much if you see someone like that? Will it kill you and bury you alive, if ever? Will it make your intestine…uhm, okay I’m over the limit. So yeah, why do you have to be so rude?

Just now, I saw this post/tweet about how they hated JEJEs and so much more. They are complaining about why do Jejes put La Salle, Ateneo or UST in their bio? C’mon, there’s nothing wrong in putting that in your Facebook bio right? JUST LIKE how many people don’t care if you have 500 Facebook siblings, am I right? OR how you make your FB as your diary? Do we care? No, we don’t give any single whatever in that. So why bother to insult them the way you did?

Another thing, I’m alarmed on how many people post things like they wanted to kill jejemons, people, they are still human and they have their rights to live their own life. It may seem as a joke for you but not for others. Besides, you’re not even close to perfect to strike something like that. You don’t even know ethics, respect AND MATH! Oops, over the limit again.

Personally, I don’t like chatting to people who type like that. Yes, it annoys me so much, but I find my ways to respect them as much as I want to be respected.

They express their art and show the true side of them. They’re not shy of what they’re doing. So give respect, if you also want to be respected. You might be sitting comfortably in a couch right now or enjoying some foods because your “mama” and “papa” is rich, but didn’t you ask yourself that they might have been affected by their state in the society? They only put those SUPREME Universities in their education bio because they’re dreaming of maybe one day they’ll be able to go to that school? Can’t you imagine life without insulting anyone? Do you want war? Go to somewhere else, not here. OR you just want attention? Now go to your rich kabarkadas and insult as many people as you want.

That’s the problem of having that freedom of expression. Many of us don’t know how to use it without hurting someone’s feeling. I know I’m hurting your feeling right now, but I just wanted to remind you how rude you are right now. Yes you, you who laughed at the jejes during sometime. So please, THINK BEFORE YOU CLICK. If you’re not gonna say something really nice about someone, better keep your computer shut and chat with your friends in real life.

So if they’re annoying you, that’s the time that you must stop talking to them. But don’t insult, just leave.

We all have the rights to live in this world. We can do things that we want and enjoy our days. But together with our rights are the responsibilities that we must observe. Responsibilities to ourselves, to our family and to our communities.

I just hope that everyone would respect each other, in that way, we would live as one and avoid wars and divisions. No discrimination,  no insults ~ just pure respect.

Anyway, it’s still not late to change your ways and be good to others. :)

I’m not trying to protect anyone, I’m just trying to be fair and be honest to what I feel.

*If you can’t understand them, just don’t talk to them. But be sure not to insult them or anything.
